GHACOF 62: Managing Climate Risks for Resilience
Seasonal forecast for October, November, December (OND) 2022
The Greater Horn of Africa Climate Outlook Forum (GHACOF 62) will bring together climate scientists, researchers, users from key socio-economic sectors, governmental and non-governmental organizations, development partners, decision-makers, and civil society stakeholders among others.
The theme of the conference is “Managing Climate Risks for Resilience”
The main objectives of the forum will be to:
- Review the impact of June – August 2022 season
- Present the regional forecast for the October – December 2022 season
- Present the expected impact of the forecast and advisories for key sectors in each country
- Provide a marketplace for decision makers, climate scientists, researchers, and users of climate information
Working groups to co-produce climate services and advisories will take place in the following sectors:
- Agriculture and food security
- Disaster risk management
- Water and energy
- Livestock and rangelands
- Health
- Environment and forests
- Conflict early warning
- Climate change
- Media and communications
