"Between 26th and 29th April 2011, the IGAD Women and Peace Conference was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for the first time bringing together women parliamentarians, representatives of women/gender ministries, civil society organizations and the academia from our region. One of the outcomes of the three-day conference was the Regional Action Plan (IGAD-RAP) for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions (UNSCRs) 1325 (2000) and 1820 (2008).The IGAD-RAP is a tool for Member States to benchmark their own responses and National Action Plans (NAPs) to the core issues on which the two UNSCRs are founded."
