Common Programme Framework for Ending Drought Emergencies

Authors: Republic of Kenya
Date: 2015

Abstract:

This Common Programme Framework operationalizes Ending Drought Emergencies(EDE) commitments through an approach that strengthens collaboration and synergy across sectors, agencies and counties. Its aim is to improve the coherence and efficiency of interventions and thus increase their impact on the lives of vulnerable people. The Common Programme Framework is also the Government of Kenya’s contribution to IGAD’s Drought Disaster Resilience and Sustainability Initiative (IDDRSI) The Common Programme Framework serves as a model for the country, region, and globally, and can be supported by donors under emerging global platforms such as the UN Secretary General’s Zero Hunger Initiative, the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and the UNFCCC climate change agreements.
