Communique of the Sixth General Assembly of the IGAD Platform for Drought Disaster Resilience and Sustainability in the Horn of Africa (IDDRSI) – 2019

This communique was produced when partners of the IGAD Drought Disaster Resilience and Sustainability Initiative (IDDRSI), comprising IGAD Member States, Development Partners, AU Commission, UN agencies, Non-state actors (NSAs), members of the private sector actors and IGAD Secretariat, who are committed to the objective of ending drought emergencies in the Horn of Africa, held the 6th meeting of the IDDRSI Platform General Assembly on 6th September 2019 at the Hilton Hotel, Nairobi, Kenya. The meeting was opened by Hon. Eugene Wamalwa, Cabinet Secretary for Devolution and ASALs of the Republic of Kenya. The objective of the meeting was to review the progress made in the drought resilience initiative, launch a new set of IDDRSI programming frameworks, with recommendations for visioning an agenda to consolidate the path to resilience and sustainability during the next five years.
