May 2-3, 2024, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: IGAD organised the 2nd BREFONS Regional Project Steering Committee Meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, to review the progress made by the Building Resilience for Food and Nutrition Security (BREFONS) Programme in the Horn of Africa.
The 2nd BREFONS PSC meeting, organised by IDDRSI PCU, recently occurred to assess progress and offer guidance for future implementation. Drawing upon insights from past initiatives such as DRSLP, the meeting highlighted significant strides in bolstering Member States’ resilience towards food and nutrition security.
This gathering of the Second BREFONS Regional Project Steering Committee served as a crucial forum for stakeholders. Participants came together to assess progress, overcome challenges, and devise strategies to advance project objectives. It provided a vital opportunity for sharing expertise, fostering collaboration, and reaffirming our collective commitment to enhancing resilience in food and nutrition security across the Horn of Africa. The steering committee has identified several areas of improvement that need to be implemented by IGAD, Member States, and the African Development Bank.
