Theme: IDDRSI: The next 5 years – Consolidating the path to resilience and sustainability
The forthcoming meetings of the IDDRSI Platform will discuss the revised IDDRSI programming frameworks (IDDRSI Strategy, Country Programming Papers and Regional Programming Paper), review of the progress, plans and challenges in the implementation of IDDRSI in cross-border areas; and consider the plans for IDDRSI – related events.
The implementation of IGAD’s plan to end drought emergencies, build drought resilience and achieve growth and sustainable development, now in its 7th year, has been commended as the region’s most versatile development prototype to date, which has become an effective rallying point to drive the region’s development agenda. The next 5 years are expected to advance the cause and purposes of IDDRSI to the next level; and help generate a clearer glimpse of its full potential.
